Four of us landed at Paro airport on Bhutan’s
National airline Druk Air, our flight from Kathmandu was sensational perfect
weather and spectacular view of Everest, Kanchenjunga it was a perfect day for
flying between these two Himalayan countries.
We were welcomed by the smiling faces of Pema and his staff who
presented us with beautiful white scarfs of greeting. Nine of the ladies had already arrived from
Bangkok and were getting to know each other we all soon bonded I knew immediately it was going to be a fun trip. On our first
full day in Thimpu we hiked to the Cheri Monastery situated a short drive from
the capital, it took about 1 hour to hike to the most popular monastery for the
Bhutanese people. Our picnic lunch by
the river consisted of a hot buffet of fresh vegetables, chicken, salad, fruit, drinks, and we thought that we would be having a
sandwich no such thing in Bhutan it is all first class delicious food. In the
afternoon we went to Bhutan’s national park to seek out their National Animal
the Tarkin which is half cow half goat a very unusual animal. Tonight we will enjoy a cultural performance an
