NEPAL IS READY TO WELCOME YOU!
September Nepal opened its borders. The Australian Government Smart Traveller website advice level has been reviewed and lowered to exercise a high degree of caution due to the reduced impacts of COVID-19. Nepal has updated its visa on arrival and entry requirements for tourism. There are at present a limited number of international and domestic commercial flights operating. You should contact your airline or travel provider for more information and for re-booking.

Covid Cases Registered in Nepal

830,000 cases have been recorded with 11,500 deaths which are far fewer than those recorded in Europe and other countries throughout the world. Maybe this is put down to the Nepalese being very strong resilient people, with few underlying medical issues. The other issue could be that Nepal is sandwiched between China and India so when Covid-19 was released to the world Nepal was quick to shut its borders.

Today Nepal has 281 infections per day with a high recovery rate.

Vaccination numbers to date

Nepal has administered at least 16,536,009 doses of Covid vaccines which include Phizer, Corona Vac. Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik. Nepal still has a long way to go to fully vaccinate its population of 29 million.

All tourists entering Nepal must possess the following documents: 1) PCR negative report taken before 72 hours of boarding OR document showing complete vaccination against COVID-19; 2) Visa to Nepal OR recommendation letter from the Department of Tourism or Nepal Tourism Board to participate in tourism activities within Nepal; 3) a hotel booking or guaranteed accommodation; 4) Proof of Travel Insurance which covers emergency search, rescue, treatment, among others, for the duration of their travel; and 5) Barcode generated from the online application of the Online International Travel Arrival Form.

What to do and where to go when you arrive in Nepal

Lyn Taylor from Lyn Taylors Adventure Travel advises that although Kathmandu is a vibrant exciting city, you do not linger too long. Get out of the city and into the lush green hills and snow-capped mountains. Isn’t that the reason you came to Nepal?

Nepal has so much to offer when you are out of the cities. The landscape is spectacular, the people are shy but welcoming. The Nepalese embrace their culture of singing, dancing, and prayer. They love to express their gratitude by opening their homes to tourists who want to experience a homestay in rural and remote areas. Of course, there is always the other option of staying and travelling in luxurious lodges and hotels in the more populated areas of Nepal such as Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu.

Whatever attracts you to Nepal whether it be trekking, climbing, cultural experience, yoga retreats, cycling, hang gliding you will not be disappointed.
