Women’s Sri Lanka trip

We set off at 5 am this morning to witness the dawn of a new day. In keeping with our decision to promote responsible tourism to aid  the local communities we took a 1 hour boat ride across a small section of the 580 hectares of lake Sorobora. Rising early was a great decision as we were blessed with a spectacular sunrise and when we disembarked on the shore we were surprised to be greeted by a chef and his staff who were their to prepare our breakfast which was a delicious array of fresh fruit, Sri Lankan dishes and freshly made omelettes.  We then drove to Kandy via the legendary 18 bend road affording spectacular scenery of the surrounding hills. Kandy lies on a plateau surrounded by mountains, and is busy city and previous kingdom of Sri Lanka. Kandy is famous for gem, batik clothing.
Of course a visit to Kandy would not be complete without visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The temple is located in the palace complex which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha.
